Physics-helper tutor Topic :- Electricity Electricity is the energy made available by the flow if electric charges through a conductor. Conductors can be in forms of electrolytes, human body, metal rods, metal plates, metal wires etc. Electricity is of two types, alternating current (ac) and direct current (dc). Alternating current is a form of electricity that is unstable, therefore when the human body (which is a natural conductor) comes in contact with an ac-carrying conductor, the vibrations caused by this current to the human body is what we commonly know as "shock". Direct current is a stable current I.e. it has a stable value and travels on one direction. When the human body comes in contact with a conductor carrying this type if current, no "shock" is experienced as this type of current is stable. For the alternating current, because if its unstable state, its value is constantly in variation, therefore, to get a single value for this current, we ma...

SOUND Is a form of energy formed by a vibrating body.Sound wave requires requires material medium hence they are mechanical wave. They are also mechanical wave because they set up a train of refraction and compression when it travels through an air medium. It is measured in decibel and it is represented by db For experiment purposes , musical sound may be made by tunning forks What's a tunning fork? Is a material which has two hard steel prongs. Transmission of sound Since sound is a mechanical wave it can be transmitted through a material medium such as solid, liquid, gas Sound can travel through solid In the olden days the doctor 💉 uses a stethoscope which consist of a thin wooden rods with broadened ends by placing one end to his ear and applying the other end to the patient's chest, so the doctor will hear the sound of the heart-beats which is transmitted through the wood. Speed 🚤 of sound Air 💨 330/340ms-¹ Liquid 🚰 150...

Optics is simply put as the scientific study of sight and light. The ways employed in producing images are through the camera & projector and the human eye. The simple lens camera is made up of a convex lens(in complex cameras, this is replaced by a system of lenses), a diaphragm, a shutter, a film and a film spool. The projector is made up of the small but powerful light source that illuminates the non-luminous transparent object, the condenser which is made up of two plano convex lenses which collects the light to evenly illuminate the film, the slide carrier which is the framework in which the slide is placed upside down, so that it will appear erect on the screen. The projection lens which is placed in front of the slide to give a magnified, real and inverted image of the slide, but, because of this, the slide is placed upside down so that the image formed on the screen is in an erect position. Lastly, the screen, usually white, receives the i...

Physics-helper tutor Topic - Introduction to physics WHAT IS PHYSICS ? Physics is a pure science that deals With the behavior of matter and energy and how it relates to other Physical properties. A well study of the subject indicates that physics is a everyday science. It has an effect on whatever we do . Besides, certain principle in physics is sometimes apply yo achieve our goals. For instance, the clinical thermometer used in hospitals or in homes to determine temperature of a body;the filament bulb or Fluorescent tube for producing light effect;the electric or gas cooker used at homes;the camera for taking pictures e.t.c Scientists of many different nationalities are today doing research in physics. As a result, many useful inventions and machines have been produced. Examples:-computer in banks;radar control at the airport ;colour television tran...
